During 2015, Our Lady Queen of Peace Pastoral Area undertook training for the different ministries in the four parishes in the Pastoral Area. The ministries to be addresses were: Ministers of the Word, Special Ministers of the Eucharist & Ministers of Music.
Two training nights were held for Ministers of the Word and Special Ministers of the Eucharist. Fr. Gerry McGinnity led the night for Ministers of the Word and participants were given a resource book for their own use and reflection.

In 2015, to celebrate the Consecrated Life and also to enrich the Ministry of Music in Our Lady Queen of Peace Pastoral Area, the PART Team decided to have a liturgy of celebration for all those in the Pastoral Area who had dedicated themselves to God in the consecrated life.
The choir from each parish were invited to come together to prepare for the Mass. Some members of the Music Ministry had me Sr. Marie Dunne, in St. Brigid’s Church, Dunleer when she had given a wonderful workshop on music for Advent.
Sr. Marie came on two occasions to work with the combined choirs and they also practiced together under the direction of Edel Cummins. Parishioners who were living the consecrated life were invited to a special Mass of celebration in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Louth Village where they participated in the liturgy and met parishioners afterwards for light refreshments and a get-to-gether.
Sr. Marie Dunne was the choir director on this occasion.
The Ministers of the Word, Eucharist and Music continued to gain help and support the following year when they attended a two-day workshop in the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Dundalk. This workshop was led by Julie Kavanagh from the Kildare & Leighlin Faith Development Services.
This was an excellent workshop and participants were delighted they had attended. Some of the topics on music covered were:
- Exploring Ritual & Liturgy
- The Centrality & Meaning of Sunday.
- Why do we sing at Mass
- What a Music Minister does
- When should we sing at Mass
- The Liturgical Year
- A Seasonal Approach to Music Scheduling
