Armagh Parish Celebrates Family Life!

On Thursday evening 10th May, a large crowd gathered in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh for a special Family Celebration as part of the ongoing preparations for the World Meeting of Families in August of this yearColleen Gribben, a young teacher in St Catherine’s College and coordinator of the Michaela Camp in Armagh spoke as part of the evening. She spoke about the influence of the family of home, school and parish on her young life. Armagh Parish Pastoral Council put much work into the lovely evening and as part of the gathering, people were invited to present a small picture of their family and these will be pieced together to make a “Parish Family Collage” and it will hang in the Cathedral in the coming months.

As part of the evening, the young finalist from Britain’s Got Talent in 2015, Jessie Jane McParland shared the story of her own journey and she also spoke about the influence of home and family on her life. She then made the draw for two families to attend the World Meeting of Families in Dublin. The beautiful music on the evening was led by Malachi Cush and Plunkett McGartland and as the large crowd left the Cathedral after the celebration, people felt that it was an evening with a difference and an evening to celebrate and give thanks for the gift of all our families!
